Yolk Films is committed to reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable production practices, in line with our values and the standards set by We Are Albert and our broadcasting partners.

Scope

This policy applies to all company operations and productions. Where applicable, productions will follow We Are Albert protocols and broadcaster sustainability requirements.

Policy Principles

• We aim to minimise waste, energy use and carbon emissions in all areas of work.

• We prioritise suppliers and partners that demonstrate sustainable practices in their operations.

• We encourage recycling, reusing materials, and the responsible disposal of waste.

• We aim to record and monitor our environmental impact and seek continuous improvement.

Sustainable Production Practices

• Use remote working, virtual meetings and cloud storage to reduce physical resources.

• Select local crew and suppliers where feasible to reduce travel emissions.

• Hire equipment instead of purchasing where appropriate and use LED lighting.

• Offer plant-based catering options and avoid single-use plastics where possible.

• Record carbon data using the Albert Carbon Calculator where applicable.

• Submit a Carbon Action Plan and Green Memo for productions as required.

• Engage freelancers and crew in sustainability conversations and share guidance from We Are Albert.

• Review and update this policy annually and consult external sustainability advisors if needed.

Responsibilities

Ben and Sharon (Co-Founders) will:

• Register productions with We Are Albert as required.

• Complete and review the Carbon Action Plan and calculator.

• Ensure the production team is briefed on sustainable practices.
