Sharon makes access-driven, character-led documentaries that explore challenging subjects and uncover untold perspectives.

Before founding Yolk, Sharon worked at Belfast-based DoubleBand Films making documentaries and returnable series for UK broadcasters. Her background in youth justice, children’s rights and care-experienced young people continues to shape the stories she pursues.

She oversees projects from development through delivery, managing editorial, production and contributor relationships with care and rigour. Sharon creates documentaries that are uncompromising, precise and rooted in real experiences. She is committed to building Yolk as a collaborative and diverse space for filmmakers, nurturing Northern Ireland talent and producing socially resonant work. Outside of filmmaking, she can often be found outdoors chasing her rambunctious twin boys and very fluffy dog.
